Designed For:

Any company or person that is reviewing commercial agreements for risks and impactful language related to tariffs.

 

Purpose:

This screen contains 15 standards and questions designed to help users identify provisions in their contracts that relate to tariffs, duties, or other regulatory charges that may impact pricing or performance obligations, with the goal of pinpointing terms—such as price control or change of law language—that address or mitigate changes in tariffs.

 

Limitations, Assumptions, Details:

This screen has been validated on a variety of general commercial agreements. Evaluation on a random sample of 15+ contracts achieved ≥85% accuracy across all standards and questions.

Navin Mahavijiyan

Navin has spent over 20 years navigating the in-house legal space as counsel, legalops leader, consultant, legaltech implementation expert. As a former in-house counsel in the oil & gas space, he has negotiated numerous, multi-jurisdictional, 6 and 7 figure commercial, funding, trade, supply and construction agreements where existing tariffs, especially changes to tariffs were a significant factor in their financial viability.

 

He has extensive experience, from his time in legaltech and legal operations leadership roles, in developing efficient process, playbooks that focus on core issues to drive efficient contract negotiation and AI enablement for legal and contracts teams.

 

As Head of Community at Agiloft, Navin's focus is on bringing members together, sharing best practices and developing useful and engaging instructional content for users of Agiloft and Screens.

Prior to joining Agiloft, he served as Managing Director and In-House Counsel at a fintech firm, leading AI and business intelligence initiatives to enhance due diligence processes and build machine learning–driven decision engines.

 

Before transitioning full-time into legal technology, Christian practiced as a consumer finance and litigation attorney, advising financial institutions, law firms, and asset managers, and helping legal teams adopt AI-driven tools to improve efficiency and decision-making.
